Purpose:

This page provides access to different platforms and softwares developed by the project team. This site provides a space where project members can share their work from anywhere. The access to the different workspaces requires a login. Contact remy.courdier@univ-reunion.fr or denis.payet@univ-reunion.fr for more information.

Interests:

The research of the "Collective Adaptive Systems" research group focuses on the confluence of modelling and simulation techniques of complex systems and computer science techniques. Our research is based on numerous models of reasoning and action in AI and communication protocols and techniques of parallel and distributed programming. Its emphasis is stressed on (i) taking into account the knowledge of interactions between virtual or real entities and the representation of collective phenomena (ii) propose new frameworks for collective adaptive systems developments.

The research group on "Collective Adaptive Systems" evolves at the intersection between modeling and simulation of complex systems and advanced software architecture techniques. It is concerned with the understanding and development of systems capable of adaptive decision-making processes, responding to contemporary technological and environmental challenges. The team's work focuses in particular on collective adaptive systems and multi-agent systems (MAS), aiming to unravel the intrinsic complexity of natural and social systems through simulation and modeling. The group's research is rooted in a multidisciplinary approach, integrating knowledge and methodologies from artificial intelligence, environmental sciences, urban planning and cognitive sciences. This mix enriches the approaches and solutions proposed to tackle a wide range of issues, such as sustainable land management, optimizing smart city infrastructures, and designing intelligent ecosystems such as on Reunion Island. Our work involves exploring the ability of agents within these systems to learn, adapt, communicate and make collective decisions in the face of environmental change. One of the major challenges encountered in their research lies in the modeling and simulation of the complexity of real systems, requiring faithful representation of the autonomy of individual entities as well as their collective behaviors. Interdisciplinary integration, at the heart of their approach, aims to bring together the knowledge and methods of various disciplines to design systems that are technologically advanced, but also socio-environmentally responsible.

Our Group was led to be able to participate in the two IT axes of the LIM laboratory :

With the new organisation of the Lab, This research working group participate to the "Données, Connaissances et Informatique Communicante" (DCIC) reserach axe of the LIM.
